You have heard this a repeatedly, haven’t you? A terrible tragedy happens and the Lord is blamed for being cruel and heartless! I remember the opening scene from the movie, Poseidon Adventure. The ship capsizes and the hero shakes his hand at God; yelling, “What more do you want of us? … Leave us alone!” We do the same, asking, “Why did you do this?” This mystifies me. Why do we not immediately blame the enemy, or even our own sinful nature, for the terrible situations in our lives. As for me, my first thought is: “He is good and His love endures forever.” That is who MY God is!
