Explosions can be fascinating. Just ask any small child who successfully creates an erupting volcano for a science project or a middle schooler shooting off small rockets. Explosions can be beautiful, as in massive lightning storms or fireworks displays. They can also be destructive, ranging from minor high school chemistry fiascos to bombings to real volcanic eruptions along the line of a Mount St. Helen, Krakatoa or Vesuvius. From the smallest to the greatest, each may have a different cause (i.e., natural, chemical, mechanical, nuclear) but there is at least one common denominator – all are physical events.
But there’s a different kind of explosion on our horizon, one that will be unique; unlike anything the world has ever seen. Beautiful for some and terrifying for others, it will eclipse anything mankind has ever known. God ordained, it will occur when God’s Church is revolutionized and empowered as never before to usher in the return of Jesus, to fulfill His promise in John 14:12 that we will do even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! “How?” you might ask. It all comes down to one simple formula, God’s Word + God’s Power = Explosive Christianity.
