Prayer to Abolish Fear

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Father, I come as your child, your heir, to repent on behalf of my generational line and myself for all of us who have failed to recognize our position and authority in Christ Jesus, choosing to be intimidated by fear rather than trusting you to be sufficient for all of our needs. Please forgive us for all of the times that we have set our eyes on the cares of the world instead of seeking You first.

I repent for any instance in which we have frightened others through words or actions, becoming fear mongers who spread false teachings and the deceitfulness of the world. I now declare the truth that You, Lord, are my light and my salvation; of whom shall I be afraid? You are the strength of my life so whom should I fear? You are my hiding place, my deliverer and protector, and I choose now to take up the full armor of God and use all of the weapons you put at my disposal to resist fear, knowing that it must flee in the face of faith.

In times when I am tempted to be afraid, I now choose to be strong and to let my heart take courage as I wait for You. I choose to change my thinking and set my mind on things above, looking to You as my deliverer, for I am persuaded that nothing in any physical or spiritual dimension is able to separate me from Your love.

Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit; You are my perfect love and I trust You now to cast fear out of my life according to your promise,  and I ask for a seven-fold return through the blood of Jesus of all that the enemy has stolen from me through fear and all of its by-products; I ask for your joy to well up within me and bubble over onto everyone I encounter; I boldly ask for the gift of faith to live with the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen, faith to move the mountains in my life and to live in victory through Christ Jesus.

I declare that this is the foundation of my faith; God is real, His Word is true; Jesus said it so I believe it, and I must always seek Him first.  My life is His; He is my refuge and strength, my place of rest, my peace and my hope; He meets my every need. With Him on my side, I willingly choose to join the battle!
