God loves to collaborate with His people, most of whom would heartily agree with the famous sentiment of the Lord’s Prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it’s in Heaven.” As we long for His Kingdom and the return of Jesus, we also await the fulfillment of Matthew 13:30 and Revelation 14:14,16:
Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand…So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.
With that in mind, one might think that the focus of a book subtitled Equipped for Harvest would be evangelism; but it’s not. Instead, three basic themes interwoven with one foundational truth are explored; all of which are integral to coming alongside of God in His harvest season.
