DESCRIPTION:“Utilization of Spiritual Gifts in Ministry” is a foundational College level course and has no pre-requisites. It will be facilitated by Paul L. Cox and Dawn Bray. \nThis course is part of the Aslan’s Place Intern Program. \nYou do not need to be an Aslan’s Place Intern to participate. \n \nLocation:\nAwake Church\n3500 Yadkinville Road\nWinston Salem\, NC 27106 \nSchedule (Eastern Daylight Time):\nFriday\, July 11th\, 6PM to 9PM\nSaturday\, July 12th\, 1PM to 8PM (Dinner provided)\nSunday\, July 13th\, 2PM to 7PM \nSaturday\, July 19th\, 1PM to 8PM (Dinner provided)\nSunday\, July 20th\, 2PM to 7PM \nRecordings of all sessions will be provided to all in-person and online registrants. \nRequired resources for this course: \n\nPrinted Bible – Either English Standard Version or New King James Version\nLaptop\, iPad or Tablet computer\n\nLogos Bible Software – (at least the “Starter package”) is highly recommended but not required. \nTopics to be addressed during this course: \n\nExplore the Biblical teachings about spiritual gifts\nLearn the difference between the gift of prophecy in the Old and New Testaments\nExamine the categories of Spiritual Gifts\nExplore how the different gifts may play out in the personality characteristics of their recipients\nDevelop an understanding of how to operate in your spiritual gifts\nIdentify the difference between Spiritual Gifts and the five -fold offices\nLearn how creativity and spiritual gifts are connected\nLearn to identify the corruption of God-given gifts versus false gifts\nDiscuss how the gifts should be used in churches and/or other gatherings of believers\n\nDiscover answers to common questions regarding the gifts\, such as: \n1) Why don’t many churches welcome and allow the expression of the gifts of their members? \n2) How can I express my gifts when my church doesn’t allow it? \n3) How many spiritual gifts can we have? \n4) Should we pray for a certain gift? \n5) What gifts are most important? \n6) What if others’ gifts seem better than mine? \n7) How do I develop my gifts? \n8) Why do my gifts seem stronger when in the presence of others who are actively utilizing their gifts? \n9) What if I don’t recognize any gifts in my life? \n
