Revelation of the Morning Star – Paul L. Cox

A few weeks ago I had a dream. In the dream I was getting off one bus and transferring to a second bus and I knew that I had one more bus to go. As I got on the second bus, I realized that I had left my computer case/my baggage on the previous bus. I got on the bus and I sat right behind the driver’s seat. We were on our way to Santa Fe Springs.

The next day I was going to Las Vegas to be involved in a one day marketplace ministry. For the first time ever in my life that I remember I was flying and I did not have any baggage. As I was traveling to the airport, I called one of our intercessors and asked her to find out what Santa Fe Springs means. She called back and I was astounded to find out that Santa Fe Springs means Holy Faith Springs. I was on my way to “holy faith” which needs to spring up. She said, “You are only beginning the second part of three parts of your life.” I guess I needed to prepare myself for more adventures.

The past 18 years has been a journey of faith marked by two very significant events. My life was simply routine until Saturday, October 7, 1989 at 1:00. On that day the Lord surprised me in a prayer session and I did my first deliverance. That was for me a life changing day. My life has never been the same since that day.

The next life changing day for me was in August, 1991 when for the first time I started feeling pressure on my head. I had been invited to leave the church because there was too much of God’s power coming. People were being healed and the church could not tolerate that kind of thing happening. The deacons of the church actually said to me, “You can stay if you just stop praying for people.” In the week in between when I resigned and finally left the church I started having physical sensations on my head. It was then that the Lord started teaching me about discerning demons. I then started discerning angels and then all the other spiritual beings mentioned in Spiritual Servants of the Most High God seminar.

The last life changing event happened for me in May, 2009. I was to take another leap of faith. On the first Sunday of the month of May, I was conducting a weekend school at our home with a group of some fourteen of us. All of a sudden someone had a picture of the Aztec calendar. The Lord said that these ancient people had influence in Hesperia, California. I knew that Aztecs had not ever been in the high desert region of California, yet it would be impossible to discount the possibility that they, one or more of them, may have come through the area.

Our three year old house sits on land that had never been built on before. As we waited on the Lord, He said, “You need to clean off the land.” We prayed and asked the Lord to clean off the contamination on the land. The deliverance off of the land immediately began. I recognized the sensation I was feeling. Witchcraft was exiting off of the land. Although I have lived in that house for three years, I had never discerned this witchcraft.

For an extended period of time we sat in my living room waiting for the final release of witchcraft off of the land. Then all of a sudden there was a spiritual shift. The witchcraft was gone, but I knew I was feeling something new. The righteous sensation on my head was powerful. I was feeling something new that appeared to be a righteous spiritual being. The Lord told us this was a spiritual being called a “star.”

For many days after that Sunday the pressure on my head was so intense that I found it difficult to sleep. The entire left side of my body felt like I had hot weights on me. With the pressure was an awareness of a sensation like a fourth of July sparkler on my head.

In the days following the revelation of the “star,” I started noticing a shift in my discernment. When I first started deliverance prayers for people, I was told that one day I would say a word and the enemy would be cast out. I was unaware then that this is what Jesus did. Some years later, a friend from Alaska called me and said, “I got this passage for you from Matthew 8:16.” I went to that verse and was amazed to find out that the verse spoke of the time Jesus cast out evil with one word. My friend asked if I knew what the verse meant and I said, “I think I do.” When I prayed for the next person I just said the word “leave” and all of a sudden I locked into the person and I could feel evil coming off of him. The discernment I had was like an ascending up sensation on my head. The sensation of evil coming off continued for almost 72 hours. I also noticed that I could feel the evil coming off of my left hand. It appeared that the Lord used me in a passive way for the deliverance. It was not that the evil was coming off of them through me but rather the deliverance was riding on the anointing the Lord had given to me. When the deliverance was over, the sensation left my head and I could not feel it coming off of my hand.

Since that Sunday in May, this has all changed. I no longer have the same sensation. When I start deliverance, it feels like the evil is being sucked into the “star.” I have wondered if it is like a black hole that is sucking the evil into it. It certainly feels that nothing can overcome this power. I noted to a friend that I felt the enemy being shattered like a piece of pottery being smashed. (It was later I found the Revelation passage noted below). The efforts of the enemy are futile in trying to resist the pull of the Lord against them. The length of the time of the deliverance has also changed. In the past I would often war for hours and sometimes days. Now, with the revelation of the star, the deliverance is much more rapid and sometimes instantaneous. This is the power that the Lord is now unleashing on the earth for deliverance and for freedom.

What are these stars?

As a Baptist pastor I had taught that one-third of the stars fell and that these were the angels. I taught that and believed that. Now I believe that the star is another kind of spiritual being.

Job 38:4-7 – Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Revelation 2:18-28 – “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: “I know your works, love, service, faith and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. “Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who has not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star”.

Past interpretations have been that the star or stars where really angels. Because of the revelation the Lord gave us, I would suggest that there are spiritual beings called “stars” and that the Lord assigns each believer a star. This star seems to be very powerful and actually does battle for us. Look at Judges 5:19-20.

The kings came and fought, Then the kings of Canaan fought in Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; They took no spoils of silver. They fought from the heavens; The stars from their courses fought against Sisera.

This warring is very aggressive and effective and seems to result in the shattering of the plans of the enemy. As I mentioned before when deliverances now take place it feels like pottery being smashed. The word “nations” is really the Greek word thos) meaning “peoples.” Perhaps these are the “peoples” in our generational line and the Lord is now releasing on His church His power over the sins in the generational line. He is breaking apart the evil in the generational line like breaking a piece of pottery. He is shattering that evil in our family line, destroying it, and sucking it into a black hole so that we can live in freedom.

“…as I also received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Now, Jesus is The Morning Star. However, it seems that we are each given a “star.” There is a great significance to this. However, is it possible that we are also assigned a star?

I was sitting in the Jacuzzi which I do every night at home. I had been fighting with a lot of witchcraft and finally in the Jacuzzi I said to the Lord, “Lord, when do we ever win?” Have you ever thought that? Lord, when do we win? “Lord, this is no big deal for You. You are the Creator of the universe. You are the Creator of all the heavenly places. You are the Creator of all the dimensions. You are the All Powerful God. Lucifer is nothing compared to You. It is not even a contest. Why is it that we are always fighting and why am I always recovering from what the enemy is doing?” I was not very happy. Donna had suffered for many years with pain. I was not happy about what was going on with my wife. I was not happy about me having to fight this witchcraft again.

It was just after that when the Lord gave the revelation of the star.

Look at Isaiah 14.12: “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! Some translations state that Lucifer is the “morning star.” But the New King James Version correctly translates the Hebrew as “son of the morning.” The next phrase is the phrase that really stood out to me.

Isaiah 14:13 –“For you have said in your heart: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation, on the farthest sides of the north;” How you are cut down to the ground you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.”

From the text it would seem that Lucifer who was created as a cherub was created lower than the stars. In other words Lucifer made an attempt to raise himself above the spiritual beings called “stars.” Would it be possible to infer that the stars were therefore more powerful than Lucifer?

These stars are somehow connected to believers. Look at 2 Peter 1:16-21.

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

As we were discerning the star on that May afternoon, I noted that I could feel the light of the star coming out of points in the body. I first noted that the “power” of the star was first over the center of the chest of the person, but then moved over the heart. I was mystified about this until I read the 1 Peter passage. Literally I felt the star rising in the persons heart. I then noted that I could feel the “power” of the star coming out of other parts of the body. These points seem to correspond to the points New Agers call the seven chakra points. Was it possible that those in the New Age (I would include Hindu and Buddhist in this group) were actually spiritually seeing a God given truth. Since I believe that Lucifer cannot create anything, I would contend that whatever non-Christians are seeing is really a God given spiritual trait that has been contaminated by the enemy.

I started asking the Lord to reveal the Biblical name for these points. After a period of time I was reminded of the passage in Zechariah 4. Look at Zechariah 4:10.

For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.”

Now compare the Zechariah passage to Revelation 5:6.

And I looked and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

It would suggest the seven eyes of the Lamb are these seven “power” points on the body. These seven points are tied somehow to the seven spirits of God (see Isaiah 11:1.

There is tremendous power that the Lord has given to these spiritual beings called stars. The power is so great that the energy from these stars seems to decimate the power of the enemy.

As I was contemplating the stars I was with an intercessor and I asked the Lord if stars were living beings?” The Lord said, “They are living, but they are not living beings.” Again, I was confused. It seems that each star is like a cell, thus living, in a being called a constellation.

What makes up constellations? Stars. In Job it says who made the Pleiades, who made the Orion, who made the Bear? Perhaps there is something more about “spiritual” constellations that we do not understand. The key fact is that the emphasis is on stars and not on the star. It is the power of the stars united that cannot be overcome by the enemy. Jesus is the Lord of Hosts. Hosts actually means “stars.”

Let’s apply this to the church. All of us who are followers of Jesus Christ have been given a star, and the star when it comes together in unity forms the One New Man with Jesus Christ at the head. We are all cells in the Body of Christ. Ephesians 4 says, “…until that day when the One New Man arises.” Is the Lord giving us the revelation of the One New Man? All of us, man, woman, Jew, and Gentile – one in Christ.

Over and over again the Bible says He is the Lord of Hosts. I always thought the Hosts were the angels and all the spiritual beings. That is not true. I looked up the word. He is the Lord of the stars which is what the Hosts means. He is the Lord of the stars.

After the revelation of the “star” we had a discernment school and the Lord gave us this prayer: Prayer to Release the Morning Star. The title comes from 2 Peter 1:19.
