The short answer is no, it isn’t appropriate to pray generational prayers for someone else.
When we pray generational prayers, we are acting under the authority we have through Jesus Christ over our own life and our generational line.  We simply don’t have the authority to repent on behalf of others.
Incidentally, we must also be careful to never “stand between” evil and another person.  Only Jesus can do that. (Romans 8:34).
