As we explore the heavenly places, the Holy Spirit is always our guide or, in a sense, our spiritual travel agent. In this volume, our exotic destinations are the width, length, depth and height of which the Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesian church: Be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
The enemy is adept at producing corrupt imitations of God’s perfect creation and these realms are no exception, but the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord always outweighs the worst destruction of evil. Therefore, we examine both the righteous and unrighteous versions, sharing revelatory insights from the Lord regarding how to escape from the ungodly places and dwell in the righteous width, length, depth and height where we will enjoy the abundant blessings of God.
Introduction to Exploring Heavenly Places – Volume 9
In the Exploring Heavenly Places series, we routinely speak of the places we visit in the spiritual realms, which exist beyond our physical reality and are far removed from the everyday comprehension of most people. We have defined over twenty of these destinations in our Discernment Encyclopedia for God’s Spiritual Creation (Volume 7), but have only written more extensively about a few of them (i.e., depth, grid). Now the Lord has impressed upon us that it’s time to explain more about our destinations as we travel in His Spirit. Notice that last phrase, “…as we travel in His Spirit”. We never, ever, attempt anything that is not Spirit led, following Jesus’ example to follow the Holy Spirit and to do only what the Father is doing:
Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.[i]
Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.[ii]
Granted, many people do experience and travel into the spiritual realms, following the advice of their favorite self-help yogi or guru to go inside ourselves and hopefully find meaning, wisdom, tranquility, etc., or to locate a spirit guide for direction. Some actively practice astral projection, a technique rooted in esotericism and occultism, in which there is an out of body experience as the soul or consciousness leaves the physical body and travels about the universe,[iii] or the grid as we know it.
Rest assured, this is not that! The only ‘spirit guide’ we heed is the Holy Spirit of the Living God, and as we explore God’s modes of transportation and His righteous created places, biblical evidence will be presented that validates our experience.
Fasten your seatbelts as we take off on a journey into areas of the width, length, depth, and height that lie beyond the understanding we had when Exploring Heavenly Places, Volume 1 was written. It should be an exciting journey, for:
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.[iv]
