Remedy
On 2007's REMEDY, David Crowder leads his Waco, Texas-based band through an easy-going and engaging set of Christian alternative-rock songs. Although the album is largely an acoustic affair (see the upbeat "Everything Glorious" and the plaintive "Never Let Go"), Crowder and company plug in and cut loose on the vibrant "We Won't Be Quiet," which features guitar work by newly transplanted Texan Ted Nugent. David Crowder Band: David Crowder (acoustic guitar); Mark Waldrop (electric guitar); Mike D. (bass guitar); B-Wack (drums); Hogan (turntables); Jack Parker (background vocals). ''Artist Overview''
David Crowder is one of the biggest names in Contemporary Christian Music. His band plays a mix of alt-rock and Dave Matthews-style pop marked by the occasional electronica touch. Crowder is a devout Christian and is unapologetic about his intent to proselytize via his band, hoping to convert the uninitiated and strengthen the resolve of the saved. That said, Crowder and his band are talented musicians and smart songwriters, and have garnered several Dove Awards over the course of their quick ascent to stardom. The group's 2007album, REMEDY, features a cameo from one-time madman turned born-again rocker Ted Nugent.

Prayer of Release from Chronic Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Disorders
Dr. Paul L. Cox and Aslan's Place
The ministry school had started like any other. I was in Sugar Hill, Georgia with over fifty people who had assembled to see what the Lord would do. The group included two medical doctors and several others who were familiar with medical issues. We had no idea what the Lord was about to do!
One lady had asked for prayer for a personal complex set of medical issues including sugar diabetes, breathing problems, and fibromyalgia. I remembered that I had previously discerned a spiritual spider on a person with sugar diabetes. I approached the woman and placed my hand over the the top portion of her pancreas. As I suspected, I could feel a spiritual spider with its fangs inserted into the tissue. We agreed to pray against the spider. Others began to raise their hands for prayer and we found ourselves ministering to one another for healing. The journey had begun!
Almost immediately, the students then started bombarding me with questions: Why is a spider in that particular place in the body? Why does the spider have fangs? What does this have to do with diabetes? The Lord had given me the answer to these questions several years ago. The key text is Isaiah 59:4-5:
No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. They hatch vipers’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; he who eats of their eggs dies and from that which is crushed, a viper breaks out.
After reviewing these verses, the group came to the consensus that keys are implanted in Isaiah 59 for aspects of physical, emotional and spiritual healing. The framework for a new prayer had begun. It would take several hours of receiving and testing additional revelation and coming into unity before it was finished.
Isaiah 59 has to do with the negative words of our mouths. The writer begins by declaring that the Lord has the ability to save and to hear our prayers. The problem is that we, as His people, do not know how to control our mouths. These sins are generational. The Hebrew word iniquity in Isaiah 59:2-4 is rendered as twisted, and it indicates a twisting in the generational line. The Hebrew clearly indicates that iniquity is not merely a current difficulty, it refers to something that has happened repeatedly in the past. “Your lips have spoken lies; your tongues have muttered perversity.” The issue is a lying tongue. The Hebrew word perversity is best translated as lie, deception, falsehood, and deceit. These muttered perversities or negative evaluations of others have no basis in fact. The words have no support from truth. There is also a passive agreement in one’s failure to call for justice and to plead for the truth. These verbal acts are so violent that the spoken assaults “shed” innocent blood. Individuals are literally destroyed by these false statements.
The sins of an individual appear to combine together with the sins of others and empower the deterioration of society. Injustice and falsehood collaborate in a downward spiral that works itself out in further injustice and unrighteousness.
What are the results? A hybrid spiritual spider is released. is This spider hatches viper eggs. The snakes that are released from these eggs lead to death—premature death. Evil words released from a person’s mouth have a cascading effect that leads not only to the destruction of their own life but also to destroying the lives of others. Before death, physical, mental, and spiritual consequences can unravel a healthy life into one of disorder, pain, and suffering. The roots of all of this can be generational. This evil permeates society. Deception is provoked to such an extent that those who are convicted of their sin and want to turn towards righteousness, become victims to the verbal attacks of others.
It is not necessary to simply base our Biblical conclusions about of the consequences of oral falsehood on the Old Testament. The New Testament also speaks of the dangers of not controlling our tongue. James 3:5-18 indicates that the dire result of an uncontrolled tongue is a defiled body. James then says an amazing thing! “The tongue is an unruly evil that is full of deadly poison.” Since the tongue is full of poison (from the Latin word potion or drink), its words necessarily have an effect upon the physical body: an evil tongue is a poison to the body. When I examined the word poison in the Greek, I was stunned. The word literally means venom as “venom of an asp.” The tie to Isaiah 59 is complete. The evil words of our mouths are not an innocent release of sounds. Literally, we damage ourselves and others by our words. Instead of enjoying and savoring the delicacies of “hateful” words, we will suffer from disease, mental illness, spiritual disorder, and finally death. Lying words that hide bitter jealousy and selfish ambition can open us up to “every evil thing.”
In 2008, I was invited to do prayer ministry and training at a Roman Catholic Church in Ottawa, Canada. This was the first time I had ministered in a Catholic environment and I was wondering how I would adjust to the theological differences. Before I went, I kept hearing, “What are you for, not what are you against?” I pondered these words, but it was not until I arrived in Ottawa, that I realized their significance. While attending a Sunday night introductory dinner, the Lord clearly spoke to me. This priest is your brother. I realized that I must focus on what we were “for.” Mutually, we wanted to see the Lord bring freedom and healing to His Church.
The Lord wants unity in His church. I fully understand that unity does not mean “compromise” but working together for the sake of the Kingdom of God. This also means that we do not talk “against” each other. Our words have power and we must be careful not to give the enemy any ground. Such ground surrendered to the enemy entitles the enemy to cause physical, mental and spiritual destruction. Gossip, envy, and jealousy have no place in the Body of Christ! Malicious and discontented words corrupt unity and lead to a fragmented church. Psalm 133 is clear. When brothers dwell together in unity, the anointing flows! This anointing is like the “dew of Mount Hermon.” While in Jerusalem I experienced this dew. Early in the morning, as we were leaving for the airport in Tel Aviv, I saw water running down the streets. Inquiring of our tour guide, I found out that this was the dew that falls nightly on the city of God. What a thought! When we dwell in unity, the anointing of the Lord falls in such abundance that it flows like streams. It is like water flowing on the streets of Mt. Zion!
I have a couple of favorite statements. One is “Nothing is as simple as it seems,” and the other is “Nothing is everything.” These phrases have an important meaning to me. I am very cautious not to convey the idea that if one prays a certain prayer then some type ofhealing will automatically take place. Life is far too complex for this na? concept. However, I want to be equally cautious to never limit God, to never exclude the possibility of healing, or to ever suggest in any way that some type of healing will not occur. I praise God that throughout the years, we have seen the Lord heal many times. This is what happened in Sugar Hill, Georgia.
After working on the prayer for many agonizing hours, we prayed it together as a group. The woman who had initiated the whole process by asking for prayer for sugar diabetes reported later that her sugar levels had significantly improved, her breathing was easier, and she was in less pain. Another also rejoiced in improvement with diabetes. Since then, we have had many wonderful testimonies from those God has healed through this prayer, but others have seen no improvement – “Nothing is as simple as it seems.”
So what are we doing in this prayer? First, we want to take ground from the enemy by asking God to remove iniquity. We ask Him specifically to remove the iniquity in our family line that has been empowered by the evils associated with our tongues. Second, we want to be repositioned, on ground that gives no right to the enemy to plunder us—by doing this we will no longer be a prey of the enemy. Third, we want to declare our commitment to keep the ground taken: we will no longer be a prey of the enemy. Personally, I am tired of being plundered. How do we stop the robbery? We must, through the Lord’s direction, do all we can do all we can to move ourselves into a position of being invulnerable to the enemy’s attack. This is where Abraham found himself in Genesis 15. After Abraham saw the Lord passing through the cut sacrifices, the “vultures” came, but Abraham drove them away. Why was he able to defeat them? I believe it was because the enemy found no ground for an attack. This is what I want. I want to be in such a position that the enemy has no ground for an attack. Finally, to keep the new and higher ground, we declare that we will now constantly guard our tongues not speak against others.
In this prayer, I renounce and repent for the iniquity that entered my past generations through our spoken words and for my personal sins of agreement with it. I ask that the generational blessings in my line come down to me because there is now no ground for the enemy to withhold them. I receive the truth that the enemy’s attack (vultures) can be driven away.
Prayer of Release from Chronic Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Disorders
Lord, for myself and my generational line, I repent and renounce coming into agreement with gossip, slander, critical judgment, envy, strife, holding offenses, accusation, and jealousy.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me and my generational line for all agreement with gossip, slander, critical judgment, envy, strife, holding offenses, accusation, and jealousy.
Lord, I repent for myself and those in my generational line who came against You by lying, denying You, speaking accusations against You, conceiving and uttering falsehoods from the heart, speaking oppression and revolt, and entering into witchcraft.
Lord, I ask You to break the generational curse and agreement when accusations came into the generational line. Lord, I break and renounce assignments and agreements with any lying spirit and the generational curse resulting from that. I ask Your forgiveness Lord, and I repent on behalf of myself and my forefathers. I ask You to break the generational curse and loose a blessing. I choose to bring my spirit, soul, and body into agreement with the Spirit of Truth.
Lord, please make null and void and cancel any reinforcement of curses and their assignments in their allotted time. Lord, please disconnect me from all ungodly heavenly places. Lord, please now seat me in Your heavenly places.
Lord, I repent and ask forgiveness for operating in an independent spirit when I came into agreement with gossip, slander, accusation and walked away from You and the Body of Christ, causing disunity and isolation in the Body of Christ. Today, I choose by Your mercy to be reconciled and to be restored into the unity of Your Body.
Lord, I repent for coming into agreement with slander that has been spoken against me and receiving the offenses and not blessing my enemy.
Lord, I ask that I not conceive trouble. Please destroy the viper and spider eggs that have been placed into me: slander, hatred, self-rejection and gossip. May no adders or spiders be allowed to come forth from this generation forward.
Lord, please remove all cobwebs of false clothing and nesting places that may be covering my body. Lord, please also remove the cobwebs of false identity from my body and soul and remove all deception that clouds my perception of my true identity. And where my past generations and I have allowed the enemy to weave within me a web of false identity, coming into agreement with this illness as who I am, forgive me for gaining my identity from diseases and not from You. Release me, for You wove me in my mother’s womb, and I agree that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Lord, give me Your revelation of my true identity in Christ, which I now receive.
Lord, please completely restore my ability to receive all that I need from You including healing, revelation, and restoration of my spirit, soul, and body.
Lord, I forgive the Body of Christ for reacting in judgment and rejection against those who are being wounded by witchcraft and curses that are being empowered and reinforced over time. Lord, forgive me for making bitter root judgments against those who have harmed me in any way. I forgive the Body of Christ for not accepting, understanding, and protecting me.
Lord, I choose to forgive those who have rejected me and in doing so have further empowered the curses already against me.
Lord, forgive me and my generational line for not having the strength to resist the enemy’s assault on my mind day and night and therefore accepting the feeling of helplessness in stopping this demonic flow. Lord, please renew my mind so that I can have Your mind and know that I can take every thought captive to the Lord Jesus Christ and know that You are my sure defense and that I am safe in the shelter of Your wings.
Lord, I ask You to raise up a standard based upon Ephesians 4:31 and remove all effects of bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander along with every form of malice. Lord, break off all generational curses, the reinforcement of curses in their allotted times in all heavenly places, and all spiritual, mental, and physical retribution. Lord, please protect those who repent and turn from their generational sin, witchcraft, and idolatry.
Lord, please realign me with Your purpose and heal the receptors of the cells that make up my being so my divine calling and birthright will be fulfilled.
I receive the promise that I am no longer a prey of the enemy. You are my good Shepherd. You feed me, and I receive your covenant of peace that I may dwell safely. I choose to be a blessing around your holy hill and receive the showers of blessings You promise in season that there would be fruitfulness and increase in my life. I know that the bands of the yoke are broken, and I am delivered from the hands and words of those who have made me a prey. I know that I belong to You, and You are with me. I embrace my restoration within the Body of Christ and the restoration of receptor sites of my own body.
Lord, thank you for considering my cause and my affliction and delivering me and my generations—past, present, and future, for I do not forget Your law. Lord, thank You for pleading my cause through the generations and reviving me and my family line according to Your Word. Because I trust You, Lord, I am like Mt. Zion which cannot be moved but abides forever. So I thank You, Lord, for delivering me and my family generations—past, present, and future. Thank You for redeeming me and reviving me and my family line throughout the generations according to Your Word. For as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so You, Lord, surround me and my family generations— past, present, and future from this time forth and forever.
Thank You Lord that the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous because the entirety of Your Word is Truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever. Lord, thank You for restoring the Scepter of Righteousness.
Lord, please forgive me and my generational line for closing the doors of Your anointing and blessing. Lord, please now bless me and open the doors of Your anointing and blessing and release the generational blessings, gifts, callings, and goodness that my generational line did not receive.
